an amazing kid- i mean young lady!

today is a day of reflection... bear with me. so, today i chose to use my blog as a tribute to the gal in my life that's on the verge to becoming a young woman. oh my... that's sounds so weird to say. in actuality this is our baby. well, not my baby, but well, she's as old as todd and i have been together. i remember picking my aunt up from the hospital. i was so nervous driving that little bundle home. this new life was in my inexperienced driving hands! well, obviously they got to their destination.
k, this story is gonna end up way longer than i intended if i start that far back. quick summary: she attended my grad and came out on the dance floor when todd and i had our first dance. oh yes, i remember the whispering... ya people- i had a baby. and the whole time you saw me walk around town, no belly protruding and you all saw me out on the court! geez! she is the first baby that i ever saw todd hold. tugged right at my heart. he didn't even mind babysitting the munckin!
ok, so here we really are. the pudgy cheeked pooper that once walked around telling people she went to speech werapy - too adorable- turning into a- ok i can't say it again. i can't type in woman. young lady. i can handle that. she has been there for me and helped out with our kids anytime we ask. and i know that they are in such capable hands. she watches over them as if they were her own. i find such peace with that. i know she will be a great mother- when and the big word is WHEN her time comes. i hope she hears that. although, i know i don't have to preach at her anymore. she's got it. she knows what path her life is meant to travel on. have i mentioned that she has a super good head on her shoulders too? well, in my opinion, she does. now i know there's probably secrets out there that could come back to haunt her as i say this, but in my life and my eyes she's a dang good kid! life has brought some pretty uncontrollable obstacles along the way for her. i don't need to get into details, but she knows how she's done it. if i haven't said it before, i will say it now: I AM PROUD OF YOU, ROBYNN. i wish i could say it to you, but you know i'd cry and all that mushy stuff. heck, i am now! wait a sec... need a kleenex. she knows a hard days work, has compassion for all of god's creations, and understands the world.
her graduation is coming upon us. she will turning that corner in life. that's a huge accomplishment to reach that point in your life. congratulations to her and her mom and joe for helping to get her to that point. the next chapter begins and i can't wait to keep reading her story.

this is to you my dear girl.

I know, i know, i know what i've always said...

ok, yes i will admit that i have vehemently declared that we will never be a hockey family. and i still can say this with great certainty. but i never once said that i would completely deny my child the love of the game. yes, he is a couch hockey player. and so it is for him i am posting this tonight. i can't believe how the influence of a teacher, miss gregus you know it's all you, can turn a 8 year old boy into a crazy fan! i'm talking he is jumping on the bed, sweat is on his brow, and his legs are flailing with each save. and he's only watching! LOL yes, i have a flames fan. mom has got him the iginla t-shirt, he sports a flaming "c" ball cap, and now, thanks to deenna, i drive around with a flag flapping of the pathfinder! i can't believe the lengths i will go to, to please my child. and that is the only reason i do it. for him and his love of the game. HOWEVER, this does not mean that he will be on any hockey team next season. cool your heels people!
now how do i break the news to my poor boy that his beloved team is trading in the hockey sticks for golf clubs? poor, poor boy.

pss...pss...pss...

today i want to start off by saying that men should not be gossipy. that's the way it should be. it just doesn't seem right to envision a group of men sitting around a table with their morning coffee, guessing the facts of events over a weekend. ok, especially farmers. it's just weird. aren't they supposed to be discussing the latest wheat projections, who's seeding what, or the most absurd price they heard on fertilizer and chemical when they stopped in at Viterra?
gossipping is a woman's job. we're better at it- leave it to us... this isn't a mr. mom thing here either. just leave it well enough alone. do what you're good at.
yes, the kolody's have spread the branches of the 'gossip tree'. what would this community do without us.
for anyone wondering: todd is ok, damage was minimal , and the peas are going into the field as we speak. thanks for caring though...
(and there are NO pictures... we'll just leave this one alone)

yet even more i didn't know...

mmmmmmmmm.... coffee...

k, so i'm totally hooked on this one segment that pops up on my msn and i've been taking the time to read it. imagine the interesting bits of everyday info that i am stumbling upon! who knew! take a read on a few of these. some may astound you!http://health.msn.com/health-topics/slideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=100199544&imageindex=15

it was worth the read, wasn't it? well, it was for me anyway. shocked? i sure as hell was (for some of them anyway). some things i actually did know cause well, i'm 35 already!

well, that's about all i have to say today. oh no-wait! cavan had baseball tryouts today. he was amazing- although i think mom was more nervous for him than he was. there he was, standing last in line (he was a late registration, but we won't go into that) waiting his turn. 2 grounders, 2 pop flies, 4 throws and 3 swings of the bat. that's it! coaches made thier comments on their little sheets next to "Kolody, Cavan #138". a coach will call next week and let us know who he's playing for and when their first practice is. did i sign up for this? sure did! and it's what we've always dreamed of when i popped out a kolody boy! a ball player! we can't imagine if the whole soccer thing woulda stuck! see you out on the field!

most important to me- today

k, so i realize i will never be a faithful blogger and i'm dealing with it. that's life. there are so many other things i try to fit in my day, whether they should actually have priority or not. Like this morning... i am so needing to check out the new stuff at scrapbook.com and then on my way there i of course stumble on this tidbit:http://health.msn.com/nutrition/slideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=100169914
8 more things to fit into my diet on a daily basis. i want to do this. i really do.
so, wow! i found out some interesting info there that i'm sure will turn my family into muscle growing , brain stimulized, immunity boosted machines! all in one smoothie! by the way, if you haven't already heard : I AM SO ADDICTED to my MAGIC BULLET. everyone needs one. seriously.

k, now that i'm feeling all empowered and mighty with this new found food realization- back to the real reason i logged on today... Fancy Pants (look I used proper capitalization)! i must be impressed with this new line. k, i'm loving this stuff. well, not to mention some of the other lines out there that have outdone themselves this year (BG not included :C) and Little Yellow Bicycle deserves honorable mention, but this one is so fun! yep, fun is all i can say. and so i was searching what else they could possibly have to offer. and yes, they have transparencies!

wait! why the heck did it go over there?! i have no idea what happened, but that image went wonkers and i have not a clue where it will end up when i post this. oh well. anyhoos, who could resist not wanting this in their stash? not i! had to have it! and i can't wait to have it in my hands.... move it around about 3 or 4 different times on my page and change the coordinating papers that many times too. deenna has witnessed my madness. ooooohhhh... i'm am almost giggly knowing that it is in a warehouse just waited to be shipped out to me. me!

enough said. you now know my weaknesses and strengths. i wonder what i can find on the net tomorrow to make me such a well rounded person?

she's back...

K, so then i notice that i really like to use "..." and i totally picked up the bad habit from heidi swapp not using any capital letters! what's up with that?! i'm sure my grade school language arts teacher would just cringe. good thing for punctuation!
enough of that. well, i must say i'm proud to be back. i'm hoping this will start to keep me in touch with other people out there in this great big world, other than on FB. how's that for you deenna? proud of me? i'm not gonna say that i'll leave FB , but i am willing to take baby steps...
with that said- alot has happened in life around here. i guess that's what i'll get to post about for the next couple of months. see, now i'm committed to this whole blog thing!
until then, just stay tuned and let's see how far we've come...
